Benihana - Fort Lauderdale

This was my first time visiting a Benihana. I was previously warned about them being slow even when you have a reservation but thought I’d still give it a try. I had family visiting and thought it would be a nice experience. We went for the power lunch special which is a great value for the price( but they do not do the show which we knew because of the promise to have you out in 45 mins, which was fine by me because, I needed to get back to work. )Well as you can probably guess we were not out within 45mins. Not only that it was 15/20 mins before or server even got our drinks(because they were “under staffed”) the time doesn’t even start until they give you your first course so that’s where they get you with the 45mins! I had to ask 3 times for silverware, first: when served salad, second: when cook came out and, third when cook was done because she said she forgot. Needless to say I should have heeded the warnings. If you are not on a time crunch it was fine.

Nicole and Mark were great we had a wonderful early dinner! Best view in town on the water eating hibachi. Best is before it gets dark so you can watch the boats go by.

Me and my Mom came to celebrate her birthday. We were able to get a hibachi grill all to ourselves and had a wonderful hibachi chef named Sam service us! He was so funny and welcoming, engaging in small talk and cooking our food to perfection 💯 I love coming to this specific Benihana in Ft. Lauderdale because of the pleasant memories it holds. I'm glad it can continue to do so 💜

We had a great time overall. Robert was great and checked in throughout the night to make sure everything was going well. The chef did an awesome job, the host was welcoming, and the food was delicious. The only feedback I’d offer is for the host to ask if guests have any existing coupons before offering the free appetizer. We were told we’d get a complimentary appetizer, but after ordering it we found out it couldn’t be combined with our birthday coupon. Had we known that upfront, we wouldn’t have ordered the appetizer. Other than that, everything was great. Thanks to the whole team!

We regularly (we know our order by heart) come here and have a good experience. However today we had an AMAZINGGG experience. Joanne was our chef and the food was so delicious. Very well seasoned and her interaction was very appropriate, being that we are pretty shy too. Our waitress was new, I believe her name might have been Alyssa, she was very sweet and patient.
